Karen Meng is the founder of NAL and Meng Chinese Academy.
Karen has over 20 years of experience as an educator. For the past 4 years, she has taught Chinese, algebra, and geometry at the high school and middle school levels at various public schools in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to moving to the U.S., Karen was Math Lecturer in the Mathematics Department of Xinjiang Normal University in China.
Earlier in her career, Karen worked as a computer software engineer and programmer for Honeywell and United HealthCare for 5 years. She is also published Chinese author. Karen and her Chinese Women Writer's Group co-wrote a book in Chinese named <她在海那边> (Life Stories of Chinese Women in North America). The book was published and sold in China.
Karen holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science Technology from Arizona State University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Xinjiang University and a master's degree in Mathematics from Xinjiang Normal University in China. She also holds Arizona Teaching Certificate - Secondary Education in Areas of Chinese Language, Mathematics, and Computer Science.
